Internship at QUBION
HBO 36-40 hr/week Eindhoven
Laser Locking • Quantum Computing • Atomic Physics
We at QUBION are currently offering the opportunity to perform a full-time internship at our QUBION lab. We are primarily searching for an eager and hard-working HBO student in their 3rd or 4th year, that is willing to delve into the world of our Magneto-Optical Trap project.
For a description of our current internship project, please scroll down or click on the button below for a detailed description.

What can I expect?
Laser Locking Project
The current internship project involves the assembly, probing and aligning of a Saturated Absorption Spectroscopy (SAS) setup for our MOT. An SAS setup makes use of two precisely head-on lasers to precisely measure atomic transitions.
This will also be part of the project as the intern will also measure the atomic transition of rubidium atoms.
What is a MOT?
A MOT or Magneto-Optical Trap is a setup in which perpendicular lasers are used in all cartesian directions to cool atoms to a few micro-kelvin and trap them with magnets. This is an essential step in creating qubits for use in quantum computing.
What is working at QUBION like?
We at QUBION are a welcoming and helpful student team, where we work as a team and individuals are given the opportunity to grow and to develop their technical and soft skills.
We are proud to be part of the Quantum TLC group, helping to shape the quantum future.
Where will I be interning?
The internship shall primarily take place at the QUBION lab in Eindhoven.
However, formally the internship will take place at the Fontys TNW lectorate, with QUBION as a client.
